The Nightingale's Prayer - دعاء الكروان

$795.00

Actress Faten Hamama and noted screen actor Ahmed Mazhar star in this poignant drama that director Henry Barakat adapted from an acclaimed novel by Taha Hussein. Hamama plays Amna, a young woman whose tragic upbringing sets her on a path of justice and retribution directed at her own family. The film is an examination of societal expectations for women in Egypt, which at the time prioritized chastity and family duty over all other considerations.

This poster is deceptively simple at first glance, but its composition cleverly hides the secrets of the film. Hamama and Mazhar embrace passionately, however her hair color is changed and his face hidden, to preserve the twists and turns of the story. The neutral background makes the couple pop and frames their emotional journey, while the book emblem advertises this as an adaptation. This soulful image is warm, romantic and very suitable as a sophisticated and attractive décor element.
