The Black Tiger - النمر الأسود
$425.00 $550.00Based on a true story, beloved Egyptian actor Ahmed Zaki portrays Mohammad, an immigrant to Germany from Egypt who toils in a low-paying factory job. He meets Helga (played by Wafaa Salem), a German woman who becomes the love of his life and who inspires him to chase his dreams of becoming a professional boxer. With the help of his rugged boxing coach, played by Ahmed Mazhar, he begins to make his dream come true.
This poster features Zaki and Salem in a poignant embrace, against a muted and somber backdrop of the German city. Zaki is himself rendered in a monochrome palette, a clue to the dreary isolation he feels as a newcomer to a strange land. Foregrounded at bottom is a colorful image of a scene from one of his triumphs in the boxing ring. The poster's depiction of a complex mix of emotions and characterizations makes it an appealing example of the expressiveness the film poster medium allows.
