Sins - الخطايا

Directed by prolific filmmaker Hasan Al-Emam, this melancholy film stars actor-singer Abdel Halim Hafez as an adopted son who learns the shocking truth about his parentage. As conflicts with his strict adoptive father (Imad Hamdy) grow more intense, his mother (played by Madiha Yusri) is caught in the middle and tries her best to protect the family secrets without hurting either her son or her husband.

The minimalist poster design keeps the secrets that are the focus of the film's story. Abdel Halim's face is rendered in a somber monochrome, looking over the anonymous silhouette of his mother, whose identity must remain a mystery if the family is to know any peace. The title, Sins, is written in a lurid, jagged red font that makes plain the intense drama that unfolds between the characters.
